Looks like the whole Republican song and dance was all about funneling more taxpayer dollars to defense contractors:
http://www.politico.com/story/2015/...r-defense-spending-boost-116134.html?hp=b1_c3

Repub legislators are now having all of their dreams come true. Many of them have gerrymandered themselves into being bulletproof, they have the backing of all of those huge monied interests, they have the USSC in their back pocket, they have their majorities running amok in both House and Senate, they have managed to remove the shackles of being monitored for voter discrimination in many key southern states, they have managed to put into law all of those disenfranchising Voter ID laws in states they felt they would lose elections in without them. They have everything they wanted to ensure that even with a majority of Dems voting against them they'd still win elections and they have managed to indoctrinate their base into being absolutely rabid and besides themselves with an insane hatred for Obama.

With all of this going on in their favor, they are now so well positioned to absolutely fleece and bamboozle the working man and woman like they did when the Bush-Cheney Corp. held the reins of power, even with a Dem as the nation's chosen leader. Imagine that.

Yet, in their unchecked fervor to grab back full control of gov't like the days of old, they still manage to humiliate themselves with jackass broke dick stunts that always seems to do the last bone headed stunt they pulled one better with the next.

Their insatiable lust for power and the personal riches it brings must be such a powerful allure so as to make them behave so irrationally, so impulsively.

I really can't see why else they'd behave the way they do. ;)

What GOP power brokers in the defense industry really want is another war, this time with Iran.
You may have thought Iraq was a disaster, but not them. They made hundreds of millions out of it. And Iraq was small potatoes compared to the kind of gravy train a war with Iran would bring to them.
That's why GOP will never accept a peace deal with Iran that does not at least have an excuse to start a war later.
Once the US gets drawn into a war in Iran, it won't be able to leave for decades without destabilizing the Middle East. That's trillions of dollars in the defense industry's pockets, and billions in "speech" flowing to the Republican party.

Ooooh,.. now a letter is not a letter.

http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/the-worst-excuse-yet-the-senate-republicans-iran-letter

The National Review piece added that “the Cotton Club” – Tom Cotton and his 46 GOP cohorts – “did not send its letter anywhere.” Murdock added, “Cotton & Co. never even dropped an envelope in the mail.”

It's OK guys. This wasn't even a letter.

The National Review argument emphasizes the fact that the Republicans message was an “open letter,” published online. As such, if we parse the meaning of the word “send” in the most charitable way possible, then maybe the GOP senators didn’t actually communicate with Iranian officials, at least not directly, during sensitive international talks.

The right may find this embarrassing a week later, but arguing that open letters without envelopes don’t count is the wrong way to go.

Basically, this back-peddling is prep to ensure none of these buffoon get tried to treason. Which, won't happen, because this move was just stupid, not treasonous.

That's truly special in the usual shameless fashion of the Right Wing Noise Machine.

If they didn't want to send a message to Iran, they'd have kept their mouths shut. Oh, wait, they didn't actually mouth words, either, so that doesn't count.

Getting upset at the delusional guy down the street yelling into the void and shooting himself in the foot while burning down his neighbor's shed is pointless.

Delusional people are going to be delusional. All we can really do is hope that enough of the delusional guy's neighbors stop handing the guy ammunition and gasoline.

So..what happens if Netanyahu doesn't win the elections. Will the GOP still "stand as one" with Isreal?
