See, I see stuff like this, and then I see people like TallBill saying stuff like "It's just a dog, it's the same as a TV or a microwave, who cares about it" and I can't seem to connect the two. How can you see this and NOT accept dogs have feelings too?

All animals have feelings, but that ain't going to stop me from eating their delicious flesh.
 
1) Awwww.

2) That right there is genuine empathy - something often attributed only to humans. And possibly gorillas and elephants. Of course dogs appear to have feelings for people but we can't really prove that isn't just pack structure behaviour.

One of our cats was killed (behind our house) by a neighboring pit bull- after he was buried, one of our cats went and sat by the grave...and not just for a second, either. STFU- it goes both ways.
