Hey Adul, just out of curiosity were you overclocking your system? I've noticed that drives seem to go bad faster on my OC'd system than on my stock-speed system.

P.S. The thread looks on-topic to me. It has to do with a user's experience with a particular piece of hardware.

I now never overclock the PCI bus more than 10-12%, and preferably lower. My CPU is capable of a stable 15%+ overclock, but I can kill drives (of many brands) pretty quickly at anything over 12%. I'm keeping my system at 10% over stock at the moment.

So many IBM threads... So where are all the other WD going-belly-up threads? ;)

i hate that. i just bought a drive and i'm so wary of them failing that its not getting anything but back up of MP3s for 6 months.
