He's Baaaa-aaaack! Yep, it's another one of my rants!

Back in September, I purchased a Visiontek GF3 from BestBuy. At that time, BestBuy was offering a $30 mail in rebate. Thirty bucks is a lot of money, and the rebate offer was influential in my decision to purchase at that time. Now, I'm no rebate newbie. I know these things DO take eight weeks. I'm cool with that. I also always make a photocopy of the receipt, rebate form and the UPC symbol. I've had things "get lost" in the mail before and b/c I didn't have a backup copy to prove my side of the story, I got shafted. That doesn't happen anymore.
Anyway, I mailed in the GF3 rebate on 5 Sep. "Allow 6-8 weeks for processing" OK, fine. It's just a few days short of 8 full weeks. No check in my mailbox. So I call the 1800# on the form. I get a very nice customer service rep on the phone. Remember, I don't like these people, so for me to say the guy was nice, he really was nice.
I give him the pertinent info, he looks it up and finds that it's actually a manufacturers' rebate, not a BB rebate, so Visiontek would need to be contacted.
He puts me on hold, gets Visiontek on the phone. They can't find my rebate...oh, wait, here it is. "Yeah, we got it..." (Talkative little person, huh?) "I said MMMMMMKAY, and when do I get my money?" "My screen shows that your rebate will be mailed out on December 19th" WTF? I said "wait a minute, I mailed it out on 5 September and you're telling me that you're mailing me my check 3 1/2 months later? What's up with that?" She says "that's when it's being mailed out is there anything else I can do for you?" I said "no, thanks..I'll be waiting for my check..." Click.
I get back on the line with the BB rep. He says to me...and I quote "she's not very polite is she? Kind of a bitch, huh?" And we both laughed.
So, Visiontek's customer service sucks @ss and BestBuy made a very positive impression on me. Why does it take 3 1/2 months to mail me a freakin' $30 check? That sucks. </rantoff> Thanks for listening.
