Aww crap...

A while back I took a knock to the jaw on something (don't remember what) and cracked my tooth, for a while little pieces would occasionally come off. Well another piece came off and now a pretty sizeable portion is missing (it's one of the molars).

Is there anyone familiar with dental work that know what it's most likely gonna take and cost? (My insurance isn't going to cover 100%)

i guess it depends on what they have to do.. i'm not familair enough with dental work and prices and stuff.. but i've never known anything about dentists to be cheap

Probably have to get a cap/crown on it...maybe even as far as an implant...

Either way, $$$ :/

Dentistry is such a ripoff...yeah, it's a necessity, but fillings cost about $300/hour if you go by an hourly rate...

Considering that they have to go to school for 8-10 years in order to practice, I'd say it's a bargain compared to what most surgeons(heart, brain, ortho, ect) charge for having similar schooling.

what are you, an anti-dentite?

I agree though...some of the stuff is a rip off...like cleanings and stuff. They bill at the same rate even though their assistants do it!

Same thing happened to me, but it was a wisdom tooth. Just gotta get it pulled (or whatever's left of it).

I'm from the UK and had a crack on one of my front teeth, dunno about the cost since it was covered by our NHS, but I got it repaired and it took a while, so if they do hourly rate, beware 😉
