AWS's custom Xeon E5 chips

I've read some stories about Amazon's AWS infrastructure, and they apparently get custom Xeon E5 processors that run at a higher clock speed than what is commercially available.

Has anyone here got a hold of one of these processors? If so, how much faster is it than a standard Xeon E5? Does it work in a retail motherboard? Did you try taking one home and seeing how fast it plays Grand Theft Auto 5 with GeForce 980? 🙂

The AWS-1000 is 2.4 GHz Base Frequency, no idea about Turbo or Cores (I think I read somewhere else that it was 12C). There are also other weird Xeons whose model ends with an A or B.

Regardless, they're OEM only, don't expect to see them anywhere else but eBay. And I'm sure that they should be very close, if not near identical, to a Retail Xeon E5 model. The AWS-1000 is just between the E5 2670v3 (2.3 GHz) and E5 2680v3 (2.5 GHz) judging by that.
