It should only fit one way. Look at the keys on it.

Many here, me included are kind of tired of posters with $100+ mainboards and $300+
VGA cards insisting on using <<$60 PSUs. They come back a month later with power
problems. Once there is an issue....Money appears like majic for a decent PSU 😀

Well, it boots with like 3 errors without the video card.


With the video card it won't even boot 😛


Aslo, I never blamed anyone. I just thought it would work (even though it may fail in a few weeks/months)

I guess it depends on what they mean by that.

Some PSUs have a 24pin connector but 4 pins breakaway for a 20 pin conneciton if you need that.
4 pin could also mean the 4 pin connector that only P4s used to need before.

I'm not sure what the official meaning of 20+4 is.
 
I never saw your thread and i guarentee I would have called out that PSU. For $10 more you could have gotten a stellar Fortron PSU.
I can't even begin to count how many times I've seen the $45 Fortron PSU recommended here.

You can't just make one thread and then buy. You really need to read a bunch of the other "build" threads also.

Rofl when I saw your avatar I didn't know it was you at first, I thought you were some n00b trying to give advice lol. Anyway,

20+4 pin means that there is a 20 pin mobo connector, and a 4 pin CPU connecter. 20+4 does not = 24.

What....in that thread?? I read it and the only person that mentioned "20+4" was RyanW2050. Why dont you just stand up and admit that you misunderstood or didn't know what you were buying, go spend the money on the right one and quit blaming people here??

I think the +4 means detachable 4pin on that Fortron he has picked out.

I DEFINITLEY misunderstood.

I DIDDN'T KNOW WHAT I WAS BUYING.

I ORDERED THE WRONG PART.

That is established.



Now, I am ready to order the RIGHT one.


So, just now, I made that thread asking directly if the 20+4 would work with my motherboard and the replies were:

"Yeah, that's a 24 pin and will work for you "

"Fortron makes good, stable, and inexpensive power supplies. Good choice for a PSU on a budget... "

"That will work just fine "

" Good choice. "



I never once blamed anyone for my mistake.

Pentium D 2.8
7800GT 256mb

Number of power supplies destroyed: 3

One of the supplies that was used: 24-pin Rosewill 420w (died in a few days)

Your rig: I hope it lasts...
