Awesome speech by K.D.

In an age of (often justified) cynicism, with entitled celebs who thumb their noses at all the 'regular' people and people who are so full of themselves, it is incredibly refreshing to see a guy like Durant.

If you haven't seen KD's acceptance speech from yesterday, it's well worth a look. The guy just seems like a very humble guy, thankful for what he's got. He's the kind of guy I'd want my son looking up to. He could have very easily been just another statistic / thug / criminal , but his mom helped keep him on the right path and he was able to use his talent. By all accounts he's very involved in the community, gives back a ton etc.

Of course, you don't know what he's really like, we just see the outside appearance, but he certainly seems like the real deal.

The part where he talks about them getting into a small apartment with no furniture etc, just hugging each other and being so happy because they felt like they "made it" was really moving.

i've always been a kd fan, ever since he was playing in highschool around here. he definitely is a very humble guy who just loves the game.

My supervisor walked in as my eyes were welling up during the part about his mother - awkward, to say the least.

KD seems like a humble and classy guy. I haven't heard many MVP speeches, but I would hardly think Kobe or even Jordan would thank each one of his teammates or even cry while getting an award.

I feel bad for KD though, because he is super talented and doesn't get the support he really needs. I mean, sure Westbrook is good, but he can hold the team back when he attempts to take over. And he looks like a turtle.

Damn make a grown man cry :*(

also seems like he's almost guaranteed that he's going to resign with OKC there...

I don't know. There is a lot of talks about teams very interested and willing to make cap room. Teams with a better bench and a better supporting cast.

LOL this happens to me more than I care to admit. I've probably cried twenty times watching youtube videos and sometimes I can't even explain why.
