AWESOME LOOKING RICE COOKER! - can anyone beat this?

the best ones are the Zoruouchi (sp) ones found at your local asian store... those cookers are bad arse.. but Im content with my 4 year old sanyo 10 cup, with NO lcd...

ill buy one the day it comes with a RJ45 jack, configurable with an IP address, remotely accessable via a web interface, and is able to support SNMP monitoring.

Who cares about the looks?!

Definitely go for IH(induction heating) type rice cookers from Zojirushi. It results in better cooking.

Dude, my $15 rice cooker of 5 years finally broke last month. So I upgraded to a $25 cooker which makes some tasty rice.

If you spend $100+ on a rice cooker you must have some very deep issues and should seek the appropriate medication.

My mom spend $125 on her rice cooker. It's really nice - and big as hell. ANd it's computerized too. I'd tell you what it is, but I'm too lazy to get up now 🙂

Does rice from a $125 rice cooker taste much better than that from a $5 rice cooker? I've got the $5 variety right now and am definitely satisfied but I'm wondering how much happier I couuld be if I invested a lot more into my rice-cooking

Zojirushi is my favorite. I guess its because I grew up on their rice cookers. My parents have been using the same one for like 15 years. I've had my own for about 5 years now.... simply the best IMO.

who cares about all that if yours can cook rice ( x-actly what it was meant to do ).

I got mine in a hot deal at amazon for $ 9.

And it is great !!! I use it everyday.

Those $10 cookers and these $90+ cookers aren't even the same thing, IMO(but hey, if you can't tell the diff, save the money...). Mine can cook 10 cups 😀.

Jap / Korean style rice is cooked differently than like Minute Maid rice.

Japanese / Koreans use Short Grain rice, Minute Maid is the Long grain variety.

Short Grain rice is usually cooked to be sticky. long grain rice comes out flaky.

$10 rice cooker is for long grain variety.

$90 variety is more like a crock pot w/ timers etc.

I just bought a new one, the Zojirushi NS-JCC18 Neuro Fuzzy 10-Cup Rice Cooker & Warmer.
Pic
It is worth every penny and it really can keep rice warm and moist for hours and hours.
Everybody who likes rice should have this one in their kitchen.

<< Who would have ever thought a thread on rice cookers would have so many posts.... >>

It's a simple case of ricecooker envy... 🙂 😀
