I think everyone is pretty much disgusted by our 2-party system in the USA. I propose the following new system:
1. The US agrees (e.g. via referendum) to identfy approximately 5 key political issues (e.g. abortion, war, privacy, etc.).
2. For each political issue, there are 3 stances: left, moderate, and right
3. There are thus 3^5 = 243 different stances.
Therefore, if we had 243 different political parties or candidates, each with one out of the 243 different combinations as stated above, there is surely going to be some candidate we can fully support.
