I wish hill climbs were available here in the states. I also wish races like the targa floria and the carrerra Panamerica still existed so we could take our weekend track toys and drive a 12 hour or a 6 hour endurance race on road tracks that have 120+ turns.

THOSE WERE THE DAYS

one could literally go to maserati/ferrari/alfa/+tons of other builders and buy a somewhat expensive car you could drive home and race at near formula 1 speeds. So many ways for a gentleman to compete in those days. Now? We get crumbs.......


In the 50s one could buy one of these

a 55-58 maserati 300s and go to lemans and compete! You could literally every weekend show up in your sports car and compete with factory teams and sometimes win!




Besides here in the us we cant have nice things. First public hill climb weekend a dozen people would die and the ensuing lawsuits/despite signed waiver/ would kill the sport........
