Awesome Commercial

Also I have a hard time believing that a muffler would make that may rotations from such a short incline. Also on the tires subject, they clearly loose intertia and then start moving again.

no, physics. the tires were weighted at the top, which led to them 'magically' rolling uphill.

there was a very large discussion on fark about this commercial - somebody got the inside track from the honda engineers that did it. took them something like six weeks to setup and figure out, then 600 some-odd takes.

the entire commercial took six months to shoot.

Yep. They also appear to be on a non-stable balance point. Seems some of them don't turn more than a quarter rotation.

Bunch of freaken newbs in this thread or something. That commercialhas been reposted like eleventy billion times and every time, we get the same thing. "the tires moved, its fake. Wah wah wah"

Its real god damnit.

Yep, it's real. I saw this first well over a year ago. The story about how many takes they had was mind-boggling. It must have been a totally mind-numbing experience for the people who had to get it right. I thought it was fake, too, when I first saw it until I read about what it was really about. The final bit about "it's nice when things work," really belies the difficulty of the undertaking. That's the world of commercials. Generally, I'm wary of that world.
