This marks the user as retarded:

This marks the user as completely clueless in all but the rarest of cases:

:hmm:
I think I know who you're indirectly referring to.

these assessments are correct, though I would place :awe: in the first list, above love guy or whistle guy.

I've thought long and hard about your suggestion and have concluded that my original ranking is correct.

The :awe: is an expression of overwhelming approval for something. If you are going to show your approval for something you might as well throw the sexual element of  into the mix for extra effect and more comedic value.

As such, there really aren't many cases where :awe: wouldn't be improved by using  instead, and so, :awe: tumbles in the ranking, even below :D. :D is my go to expression of approval when orgasmic approval isn't warranted.

 is the best.
No, it is redundant. :D is better on many levels, the most prominent of which is why the fuck is that smiley green? Has anyone ever smiled so hard they turned green? I think not. Makes zero sense.

GOAT

Takes me back to the fusetalk days when someone would post some ridiculous shit, and someone would quote it and break that bad boy out. Always brought a smile to my face.

:awe: the eyes are slightly looking away like he is being shy or sarcastic. Way more depth than just approval..wtf do you get approval from?

I mean think about it. Of all the smileys is there any one that can compare to this one? It has so many uses, and fits in 99% of all situations.

Thread: I need a recommendation for a meat dish.
Response: I have a meat dish for you :awe:

Thread: I just won a million dollars.
Response: And you're going to share it with all of us right? :awe:

Thread: I am the smartest person in the world.
Response: Your last thread was "How do I make a jelly sammich"... :awe:

So many faces, so many uses. But only one is near and dear to my heart. So, a tribute to you Mr Smiley, you brighten up my day.

:awe::awe::awe::awe::awe:

Preachin to the converted brah preachin to the converted :awe:

Its similar, but biggrin shows teeth. Its a bigger grin. The one for message titles is even better. I have no explanation for the green, although I don't care about the color really. Your theory is as good as any...kinda makes it even better.

:D shows teeth as well. The white area is teeth. The lines are unnecessary and make it look goofy. The title one is even worse.

yeah, because smilies is serious business! I prefer definition of the teeth. Its provides extra oomph, as if the person smiling has a big overbite. I think it could be a little better though if the eyes were horizontal lines, slanted downwards towards the middle, or carrots

You guys are unbelievable. I would seriously be less mad at you beating a helpless puppy than your awful sense of taste.
