Jeb's been on tv a fair bit lately. Obviously so much more intelligent and articulate than W. I don't know if I'd be any happier if he made the same decisions though, then I'd feel it was more well thought out evil as opposed to idiotic singlemindedness.

Good find ProfJohn, for actually reading what Bush said.

The piranhas however, are still frothing over the blood the OP put in the water. Best stay clear of the feeding frenzy altogether.

Uhhm it was Bush that drew the blood by volunteering names.

Care to explain yourself?

Former President George H.W. Bush told CBS News that President Obama "is entitled to civil treatment and intellectual honesty when it comes to critics."

So then why didn't he mention Rush or Beck? Too busy being a hack, perchance?

You are clueless dude.

Bush has been one of the classiest ex-Presidents in our history.

Since leaving office he has totally refrained from making any comments about the policies of any president who has followed him and has essentially remained completely free of politics and led a quiet personal life.

In this interview he spoke about the overall negative tenor of the media and then mentioned two people who he thought had gone over the top. But he comments were not even close to what the OP is trying to make them out to be.

So says the biggest kool-aid drinker on the forums.

George H. Bush the elder certainly had his sins, I thinks its almost certain the proof will be found that he was in the loop and up to his eyeballs in Iran Contra, but compared to his son, GHB was not that horrible as a President. On the plus side, he was willing to end Reaganomics for the good of the country and he also built a coalition of the willing over Kuwait.

And even as a liberal and a partisan democrat, its hard, even at this late date to work up a lot of hate of GHB. And as far as I am concerned, GHB bears some responsibility for not dope slapping his son when GWB became President, but I think GHB now regrets not doing more. But its now water over the dam, its GHB's private shame to bear. And in many ways, much of the horrors of the GWB administration was a sin of omission by GWB, who simply put too much faith in totally morally bankrupt people like Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, and the rest of that cabal, and that is a private shame I think GWB now partly realizes.

And if nothing else, I believe it will end the Bush political family name, and end any hope of Jeb Bush ever running for Potus. If nothing else, the Jeb Bush pandering position on Terri Shiavo shows Jeb is not Presidential material.

"Poppy Bush" - I think you mean Former President of the United States, former VP for one of the most popular Presidents in history, former Congressman, former Ambassador to the UN, former Director of the CIA, and War HERO.

Its not like I expect left wing HACKS to show some respect to someone who put his life on the line and spent his entire life serving this country. Bush Sr. has earned his respect.

Read the source of the Post from CBS.

It's a passive/aggressive tactic. He's just not as smooth as he used to be.

I saw the interview a few days ago. Kind of embarrassing that a person who was president just 20 years ago is such a dinosaur - and I don't mean chronologically. Take a look at the interview and try not to wince when he describes cable tv news channels as "the cables".

hp articles always require second/third sources for verification. Their breathless, sometimes near hysterical reporting does not help their credibility. It's almost as bad as drudge sometimes.

This is the guy who was neck deep in the Iran-Contra affair, is in bed with the Saudis, gave Roger Ailes and Lee Atwater free reign to start the downward spiral of incivility in politics, and fathered the redneck Antichrist. Fuck Poppy. Fuck you, too, if you don't like it.

He was being fed with that silver spoon when my grandfather was fighting ww1, if that's relevant. I heard he jumped out of an airplane a few years ago. He still seems to be able and willing to go on the attack. You would think one would mellow with age.
