I currently have Verizon FiOS service, and going to be moving to an area where there is no FiOS. The only 2 things Verizon offers at the new location is home phone (which I dont have currently and dont need) and DirecTV. The thing is the condo association I am going to be moving into does not allow a dish to be mounted on the roof. So, looks like I'm stuck with the $119 early termination fee - unless there is another way out?

first you can call verizon and speak to a CSR and explain your situation. if that fails, then post here.

I asked about this when I got FIOS. They said if you move to area with no FIOS, then you will not get dinged with the fee...However....I only get FIOS for TV and Internet, so if you have phone service with them, it may be different. You may have to atleast get a landline for phone to avoid any penalties.

Call and tell them whats up.

If you truly cannot get the services moved then they "should" let you out with no fee's.

It is ILLEGAL for an HOA to ban the use of dishes. That is fact. They can dictate where you put them on your house(e.g. can't be seen from the front of the house) but they can't ban you from putting one up.

They probably can't enforce that, and will claim it's just a "suggestion".
