Latest (11.8 package) AMD ACHI drivers are fine. They turned in slightly higher numbers on my M4 than did the Win7 drivers, and my system seems a bit snappier than before, but that may just be me.
Those drivers haven't changed in many months, there has been no updates for a very long time.

For those on the fence, there is no reason not to use them.

Erm, since we now know the current AMD drivers are stable and work, can we edit the title of this thread to include 'fixed', or some such? As it is, it's misleading.

Bah, I debated if I should reply to this person, since they did some necro'ing... but in the end, this thread should have been locked a long time ago, to prevent people posting about outdated info.

And just what problem would that be ?
AMD's AHCI drivers were fixed a long, long time ago, and they work reliably, over the entire line of window's products.

I suggest you make a new thread about your specific problem, and for the mods to lock this thread.

Intel's storage driver performance doesn't suck. AMD's does, as has been documented pretty well. Even its RAID performance, though better than its AHCI, lags behind Intel.

I think it depends on what AMD chipset and board is being used. I tested both Intel and AMD AHCI drivers on the Gigabyte 970 board in my sig. With a Crucial M4 or a Samsung 830 (both 128GB SSDs), the AMD driver was the fastest by a small margin.
