AVIA, AXIA how do you know?

I am seeing all this talk about AXIA being the best athlon to overclock. How when you buy a processor do you know which one it is? Is it the luck of the draw? I look online and I don't see any of that information under the processor. Also I see a lot of the week. How can I tell this? Any help is appreciated.

You usually have to call up the retailer and ask them what kinds of chips they currently have in stock or ask them to hand pick a particular chip for you. Usually ordering online it is luck of the draw. You may have to pay a small premium for them to hand pick a chip for you. I've had good experience when I called up Accubyte and asked for matched stepping processors for a dual system I was building.

hehehe you dont know unless you buy it locally and look at the first 4 letters of the serial number stamped on the core.

some online stores advertise that they have axia, but... they charge a whole lot more for them

oh ok. so the axia and the avia are the first letters of the serial number? let me know if this is correct. what is the order of how good they are? i know axia is the best. what is next and so on? how can you tell the week?
