I have a bunch of .avi video files (I have to use VLC Media Player to play them) that i want to put onto a DVD and watch on a standard DVD Player.

Is there anyway for me to encode those .avi into the .VOB or whatever i need to encode them in?

Let me rephrase that, is there any free software that will do that?

DIKO + HC Encoder. Makes things really REALLY damn easy, and you can fit a lot of video onto one DVD because of the GOP structure and quantization matricies it uses. True, this is only useful if you want to fit like 8 hours of video at full res onto one DVD, but it's quite effective.

I coudln't get it to work. It wants me to choose and audiostream, yet there are no choices there.
