I have a multimedia file that is not encoded in DivX, but instead with an older encoder. When I open the file at present I get audio w/no video. I assosiate this with having the wrong codec. Can anyone correct me if I am wrong or point me in the right direction? Where can I find this needed codec?
 
if you highlight the icon, and press alt+enter you get the file properties if you are using windows.

the second tab has the properties of the video file.

read it and get back to me.
 
Try two things

a) reinstall the Divx Codec
b) Install the SMR avi codec.. search the web or go on irc or something and u will find it..

I would send it to you myself.. but my main machine is dead.. it won't start 🙁((((((
So I am using my second linux box ..

sigh.....
