Mods: If this is inappropriete, please lock, and I'm sorry.

Anyway, I was wondering what the adverage prices of various liquors are. For different sizes and qualities. I've tried searching online to no avail. If you could give me the brand, the quality(sucky,ok,good, super, etc), and the amount, that would be great.
Thanks,
Mike

EDIT: I should specify, hard liquor (vodka, gin, whiskey)

I can't quote anything off-hand, but I can tell you that Jersey liquor store prices are less than PA, and they provide better selection.

You gotta love the "Communist Wine and Spirit Shoppe." The old soviet cadres would be proud to see the innocent Pennsies standing in line to get cheap vodka.

And to add insult to injury, you have to go ELSEWHERE to get beer, and if you want more than 3 6-packs you have to go to a licensed distributor.
Did I mention no sale of hooch on the Sabbath? Where's your separation of church and state NOW, LIQUOR CONTROL BOARD?!

Sorry, touched a raw nerve, there.

I think I paid $18 for a medium-sized (350mL I think) bottle of Cuervo Gold....same in NJ and PA. If that helps at all....

Vodka is usually the cheapest. I bought a 1.75 liter bottle of it (crappy brand) the other day for like $8. Gin is a few bucks higher, and whiskey is the most expensive.

It all depends on the kind you buy though.

As Jzero mentioned, PA is not the place to live if you want easy access to alcohol. I'm a recent LA transplant and one of the first things I noticed was the lack of beer and liquor in grocery stores. To purchase liquor or wine we go to licensed liquor and wine shops and to buy beer we have to go to one of the beer distributors. Or you can buy a six pack at a bar or at some restaurants.

PA is a very conservative and strange state. It is so funny when pittsburghers make fun of the "backward" West Virginians.

Anyways back on topic:

Depends on what quality of liquor you want to buy. Cheap stuff is usually really cheap and pretty bad. But if you get midrange stuff like El Cuervo, liquors will run you anywhere from $18 to $30 for an average sized bottle (I've never bothered to actually read the volume).
