average life of Samsung phone?

Have to choose a new work phone but I have a hard time deciding ... Friend's Galaxy S5 and 8200 mah battery seems awesome so Apple and Microsoft are not up to my mind. Since the new phone is supposed to live with me for like 2 years, so..what's the average life span of Samsung phone?


Anyone have opinions? Samsung Galaxy Note 4 or Galaxy S5?
 
I had an s3 I used for a bit over a year and then gave it to my sister who has used it since then. Don't drop it and it'll hold up. The only downside would be if the battery starts degrading, but luckily Samsung still uses removeable batteries so that's a cheap and easy fix it you need it.
 
Any current flagship should last you two years. I still know people buying GS3's. If you were to buy a GS5 I say you'd be in good shape. The iPhone 6 is also due to be announced in a few days.
 
My GS3 is still going strong at 2 years + 3 months? I don't really need to upgrade it but the itch is strong 😛
 
Anything that's been recently released when you purchase it will last at least two years baring the occasional rare hardware failure, but any manufacturer is subject to that.

A lot of flagship devices could conceivably last for four years or more if you're not the type of person who always needs bleeding edge technology.
 
S4 is doing well, factory updated to 4.4.2, feels fast.
 
My galaxy s2 is still working fine. However, it isn't my main phone though.

My S4 is just little over a year old and it is still good. It seems that the battery is the component that depreciates the most in most phones.

That's why it is good for Samsung phones to have removable batteries. It is what put me off the HTC one.

The Amoled screen is a concern though. I think it is said that it can last for a long time so no worry I guess.
 
I have stuck with Samsung phones since the original Galaxy and they are some tough sobs. I am very rough on my phones, dropping then all the time and they keep on trucking. This is one of the main reasons I like plastic phones, say what you will about their build but they are tough
