IIRC, old thread from a year or two ago said most of us were late-20s to mid-40s... Physically.

I'm not sure, but having BoomerD and Olds around sure skew the average quite a bit.

I didn't want to call them out..but if we take them out then the avarage age drops a LOT. since both have to be at least 80-110 or so.

i'm not sure. I just know they are old. very old. and cranky.

That's why I like ATOT...we're all in a similar age range with only a few at either end of the bell curve. I'll turn 36 this year.

There was a common saying when I was a kid, "Lordy, Lordy, feelin' forty." I was just reflecting that I wished I felt like I did when I was forty. Oh yeah, get off my lawn!

I hope this forum keeps going for a long time, the conversation here is significantly more entertaining than the garbage on Reddit. 23 here btw, and I often feel like I joined the party late.

I just did a pizza dinner fundraiser last night - cooked and served 70 16" pizzas to a couple hundred people. To be successful, I had to train 15 year old kids how to make pizza. One of them realized I had worked (and still occasionally do) at one of their favorite pizza places about 15 miles from here. (Rural area; so it's a common place to go to.) One of the kids asked me how long I've worked there - I suddenly felt old when I realized I had been working there more than twice as long as some of the kids had been alive.

Did you show him your pepperoni-stained doctorate certificate in Pizza Theory? :p

Yeah, the bar for excellence keeps getting lower on the net. You only have to read the comments section of just about any youtube vid to appreciate the core of our community.

Yeah, but like the silly youngster he is, the guy made a poll where the age ranges were open ended. I mean, if you're 60, you can pick anything but under 18 and not be lying (other than the joke options). Then what if you're 19?

There was a thread not that long ago in OT with a poll where people reported which age group they were in.

Last one I saw was from 2012.

Funny that I just went from the highest percentile to one less than half that size. I wonder how many have done similar?

I agree that this thread needs a poll also, just to see how/if things are shifting a little over three years later.

The average age here is over 40 for sure.

Why ?
It's simple.

People in their forties post on forums.

People in their thirties don't. They think it's old-fashioned. They only do "modern social media". That's Facebook and Twitter. They think this makes them hip.

People in their twenties don't even bother with Facebook and Twitter. They think it's too much typing and far too much reading. They use Whatsapp to stay in touch with friends.

Teens can't even be bothered to type in Whatsapp. They use the Internet in a passive way only. All they do it watch YouTube and cat pictures.
