AdobeAir_3.9.0.1380_SPS.exe
Origin: http://dl.secunia.co....0.1380_SPS.exe
Downloaded by: C:programFiles\Secunia\PSI\PSIA.exe
ACTIONS TO TAKE:abort the connection (recommended)

I chose to abort the connection each time as Avast recommended. Also, when I ran Avast scanner last week it found one corrupted file. Something like .pup. I ran ESET and Malwarebytes at the same time and they found no infected files. Thanks for any replies.

I am using PSI inspector by Secunia, and looks like you too, the updates usually come by them and not from the original source. All depends on which product you trust more, Secunia or Avast. I myself trust Secunia way more then Avast.

I really think Avast its doing its usual "scare-ware" thing to keep relevant, and making a false positive on a competitor as a plus :)

you need to stop using one or another, keep the one you trust more :)

If I choose to download Comodo then should I delete ESET, Avast, Secunia PSI, and Malwarebytes and only use Comodo? Isn't it necessary to have one anti-virus program, one firewall, and one scanner, or is the anti-virus a scanner? These are the other security programs I use: Ccleaner, Spywareblaster, Winpatrol, and ERUNT (I'm not sure if ERUNT is a security program). If I use Comodo should I also delete some of these? Thanks.

MBAM is not an AV. It is all about malware. You can run it safely in concert with any AV or Internet Security suite.

its the allways-on in AV scanners the ones who usually have conflicts, so just one Anti Virus its the best, but can run secunia psi and malwarebytes at same time as one antivirus on no problems.

On friends i usually put Microsoft Security Essentials + Malwarebytes + Firefox on addblock plus, and that seems enough to stop most of the crap. 90% of infections come by the adds

I just read this on the MS site:

Important: After April 8, 2014, Microsoft will be retiring technical support for Windows XP, including security updates that help protect your PC. Microsoft will also stop providing Microsoft Security Essentials for download on Windows XP on this date. If you continue to use Windows XP, your computer might become more vulnerable to security and virus risks.

I've decided to use Comodo, MBAM, Firefox on addblock plus, Secunia PSI, ESET, Winpatrol, Ccleaner, Spywareblaster, and ERUNT. Do these work together? Are they excessive? When I run Secunia PSI it just lists the programs that are updated and the ones that aren't. Does it also scan the system for infections at the same time?

Pls be specific re the versions of Comodo and ESET you are referring to. you can run apps in concert, but only ONE ANTI VIRUS.

I think the goal is to learn and get clear on all of it, and then choose each app based on that clarity.

I would say, cause it just presented, kinda like pizza toppings. But this has real academic elements to chase and own.

It's not the more the merrier.
