the new final Avast version 5 is released. Pretty impressive for a free anti-virus program. the new version got new heuristics, code emulator, behavior blocker, etc. of course the paid version has even more features.
Installed on my win7 64, very light, rock solid so far. i always hated the old version with its skinning option, made it looks like a toy instead of something you could use to defend against virus, but this time it has a more conventional interface which i like quite a bit.
imo this is the best free anti-virus out there right now, more customizable and more powerful than MSE, and has more features than avira.

Trying it out today.
So far my system seems more responsive than it was with MSE.
The I/O Read and Writes on my hard drive from Avast 5.0 is MUCH less compared to MSE.
For some reason MSE on my system was ok as far as CPU and Memory usage, but the hard drive I/O's were pretty bad.
