Availibility of 1066 Rambus (184 pin)

I'm wondering if anyone has any information on the availibility of these modules from either Samsung or Kingston.

I know that Kingston released a bad batch of 1066 rambus and had to do a recall, however I think these modules are still available online. As far as I know, Kingston says new 1066 modules are on backorder for 6 weeks!

Samsung makes 184 pin 128mb modules that can be bought at newegg (the part number is MR16R1624DF0-CT9) but they are out of stock. Actually, newegg is the only retailer I can find that sells TRUE 1066 Samsung, some other jerks are selling 800 rebadged as 1066 and getting away with it. The 1066 Samsung parts will end in "CT9" where 9 is the key number.

I know a lot of people have built new systems and are waiting for memory (myself included). Please respond if you have any information on the whole Kingston situation or the avilability of true Samsung 1066 rambus.

I also am waiting for it. I wanted 256meg modules. I was going to order an Asus P4T533-C this week but am now considering getting a P4T533 instead and getting the 32bit Samsung 1066 stuff instead just because I think you can still get that. I have to make up my mind one way or the other next week or so though since I am tired of waiting. Hopfully Ill be able to get some 1066 soon.

Yeah, I've built a 2.4GHz with the Gigabyte GA-8IHXP board. The first 2x 256MB PC1066 RAM I got was shite, so it went back to my suppliers, who informed me of a 4-week wait! Gah!

The RAM I got was part of the faulty batch, I think - the offending model# has "036.A01" on the chips. Just sitting, waiting, unable to play UT2003 on this P3 667 system

Talking about PC1066, has anybody tried Mwave's PC1066? $127 for a 256mb stick looks tempting. LINK.

I've heard rumors that Kingston produced a bad batch or are getting out of the 1066 market entirely, so thier ram seems to be in short supply. Samsung is making 32-bit memory too, which is confusing matters on thier end. I bought some 1066 Kingston before all this sheeet went down, and it's fine, but it seems to be getting harder to find.

This link shows Newegg's selection (or lack thereof)-things are getting rather wonky here, folks. They do have Kingston 256 1066-but only ECC. I'm still not sure if Samsung actually makes 256 1066 16-bit, but they do make 256 1066 32-bit and 128 1066 16-bit. The OCZ stuff is probably junk, and probably what Mwave is selling under thier house brand name-but who knows? The 1066 situation is really quite odd, IMHO.

I got some of that mwave.com 1066, it happens to actually be OCZ 1066. So far so good.. I haven't had any problems, however.. when I run memtestx86 3.0, I got like 7 errors in 9 passes. So I don't know what to do here... I know that can't be good, but like I said.. the funny thing is all my games and everything work fine! So I dont know.. anyone.. any suggestions?

I got some of that mwave.com 1066, it happens to actually be OCZ 1066

OCZ!? Yikes. But what kind of warranty does it have? One year or lifetime?

As for the errors, I don' think every memory out there passes Memtest 100% error free. If your system doesn't crash or act funny, you should be fine.

The thing is.. my system is all of a sudden doing random reboots, it's done it a couple times now in the past couple days. So I'm not sure if it's the memory or not.. dont' know what else it would be though!

What kind of memory timing settings does the Gigabyte have? Can you slow it down? I have a bad feeling that the OCZ is just OC'ed PC800...

BTW, I went to fry's today and checked out there 1066.. well guess what they have Mushkin 1066, but when I got up the the counter I asked to see it before I bought it and the Samsung sticker says "800 -40", 40ns PC800.. dam! I seeing that and thought some sucker is going to by this and not know any better!

I've been looking for PC1066 RDRAM but prices (and availability) have been out of reach. I decided to just stick with my Samsung PC800 in the meanwhile. Maybe I'll just wait for Granite Bay since I still have Crucial PC2100 lying around. From what I heard, Dual channel DDR PC2100 is faster than dual channel RDRAM PC1066.

Another option is to go with the Asus board that uses 32-bit RDRAM. 32-bit RDRAM seems to be in supply everywhere and they are cheaper than regular flavor RDRAM.

you know I keep hearing that the asus board that used the 32bit flavor has been discontinued.. I don't know how much truth there is to that though.

Go read on HardOCP forums, theres a batch of 32bit Samsung Rimm4200's that do close to 166x4 = PC1333
