Availability of the Asus Tablet Netbooks?

I've been a college student since 05 and my trusty dell has worked wonders. However as it dies (I'm lucky to get 45min of battery now) I'm looking for something cheap to replace it. I have a desktop which I do most of my work on but, like I said, need something to replace my laptop. I have no interest in another powerhouse, don't need it, but something small, compact, and can be written on (tablet) is perfect.

I know asus announced their line of tablet netbooks and said that they would probably be releasing it at the taiwan show at the beginning of summer. Anyone know any hard info about this or know where I could find said info?

I wouldn't be surprised to see an anouncement, or at the very least an update, at cebit this week.

Take a look over at engadget. They have some pics of both Asus's and Gigabyte's tablet netbooks. No release dates or pricing though.

That's a different item. More like a touchscreen desktop like the one HP does.

Sure enough, didn't look close enough. At any rate their is some new info/pics on what you are looking for at engadget and other tech blogs. The gigabyte version looks pretty slick too.
