Well, I looked on the AV123 page and noticed that the show special on their RS250mkII ended (now $599, not $499) so I figured this deal may be ending soon so I'm posting it :p

http://www.av123.com/products_product.php?section=speakers&product=62.1

Available in South American Chocolate Rosewood (real wood veneer) or Piano Gloss Black.

If you want a center to match, the RSC100 would be good, but wouldn't acutally match in appearance (finish options aren't the same).

EDIT: new price :Q

EDIT: for anyone more crazy and wants to spend more, 750 signatures are being replaced by a newer model, so the current stock of 750s (normally $1499/pair) are being sold at $899/pair.

EDIT: ELT center is on sale now too @ $199
http://www.av123.com/products_product.php?section=speakers&product=39.1
(South American Rosewood though, not black laquer)

EDIT: ELT center is OOS :(
(more coming in Nov in rosewood?)

EDIT: According to Sean Parque of AV123, they are out of ELTs. If you order a set now, you'll likely not get a pair. If you order anyway since they are still taking one, AV123 will let you know the inventory situation once they have everything figured out.

I can't speak for these bookshelf speakers, but I own a 7.1 Rocket 750/200/300/150 setup, and couldn't be happier.

This company's committment to providing the best bang for the buck possible, combined with some of the best customer service in this or any industry, is unparalleled in my experience. I know that's a lot of superlatives, but damn... I've never had such a positive experience with a company, and I like to talk about it.

The ELT speakers have been very well reviewed:
Secrets
Home Theater Sound
Home Theater Talk

Spend some time in the AV123 forum.... they're a nice bunch, and they won't beat you up if you ask about other speakers like in some forums.

Good Luck!

You know me... I just follow you around. ;)

I started a thread for an AV123 deal in this forum one or two years ago, and got jumped all over... called a paid shill etc. It felt too much like AVSforum, so I didn't do it again. Thanks for taking up the cause!

Seriously folks... this is a great deal on a well reviewed speaker designed and built by an industry icon who would just as soon eat his socks than leave you unhappy. Pretty hard to go wrong.

I don't think too many people that frequent this forum are into this sort of stuff though.

It's funny that threads on $100 HTIB sets get tons of replies though. The majority are "Is this set crap?"

Oh, and if you follow me around here you must think I'm a pretty strange guy with Night Crew and all (of course my work schedule has kind of toned down the madness)

Actually these ELT speakers would probably make great speakers to swap old ones with, as long as its a halfway decent receiver of course.

I've read lots of good feedback about most of AV123's speakers, they seem to be leaders at their respective pricepoint. Unfortunately i've never auditioned them myself.

Other popular choices at their respective pricepoints: Parts express Dayton BR1 monitors, Dayton subwoofers and Fluance seem to get a lot of traction.

Would definitely like to see more audio/speakers related deals, and not the junky ones either ;)

I made a thread on the Dayton going on sale for $99 a little while ago (it had been $124 for like 6 months or something, then I saw in my catalog that came that the price went down). :)

I liked my Fluance when I had it (SX-HTB and a pair of SV-6s). I recently hooked them up to hear the difference now that I'm used to my new speakers. Huge difference!

Fluance is still a good bet for entry level stuff. Polk deals at Outpost.com are also pretty popular. R30s go on sale for $100/pair, R50s for $140/pair, and R15s for $50/pair.

One more bump.

I see some more items are not on sale anymore... these might be next.

(My RS500s are back up to $999/pair etc)

The AV123's have more than twice the energy efficiency so unless they suck in some other way, they're definitely the way to go.

this deal's extra hot

now to debate whether to buy these for my two T-amps

89db efficiency is nothing to sneeze at @ $99, rockets especially!

Say if I buy this pair, and I don't have a receiver.. is there another way I can hook them up to my computer? Right now all I have is a Logitech Z-560 which I'm sure will be blown away by just a sneeze from these babies

Not the best use of them, but you could have the logitech sub power them until you got a receiver.

The crossover would be quite high for them and they wouldn't be playing as much bass as you'd like, but it would work.

bump for awesomeness. $100 per pair is a steal. Nothing can come close for 100$.

If anybody is contemplating starting an HT, or want something better than HTIB, here is where it is at - happy wallet too.
