As the title states. Simply getting a pulse of the crowd to see in how deep a hole the Big 3 is, or isn't.

I've always liked Ford trucks and would most likely buy one in the future. I think that when people call big 3 made cars crappy, that is a huge generalization.

The closest foreign competitor in full sized trucks is the Tundra, but from what I know, the Tundra is still not a real truck. If you study the frame suspension differences, the Toyota still has a ways to go.

You seem to be the opposite position from me. For you there's not a lot of foreign truck options that stack up well against Big 3 options, whereas my next car is going to be a Honda Fit and there's really no Big 3 competitor for it (except for Chevy Aveo which is a rebadged Daewoo, and a far inferior car)

I have a Dodge Ram 2500 4door 4x4, and Ford Escape 4cyl, and a Toyota Tacoma 4x4. I like them all. I get the vehicle I believe is the best deal at the time for my specific needs. My next vehicle will be... another Toyota Tacoma (probably).

My current is a 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora. The next car will probably be a Saturn Astra. That's a few years away though.

That depends on when you plan on getting your next car. Ford should have the Fiesta over here pretty soon. It shouldn't be hard for them, as it's already produced in Mexico (for Mexico and Brazil). I think they're waiting until they do an update on the current model though, as it's actually going to be a global car.

have a nissan sedan, it's a not all that nice, been recalled more than a focus, rattles a lot, has an incompetent suspension. want to buy a mustang 'vert. also like the 335 coupe. everyone i know drives a G35, and if my current nissan wasn't such a piece i might want that. should have bought the maxima.

Currently own: Dodge cargo van, Toyota Tundra, Toyota Sienna, and Chevy Corvette.

Next purchase will likely be from the Big 3 or European.

mid-life crisis/ dream car is from the Big 3.

My car recommendation to family members depends on need and budget. No one make excels in everything.

Currently own large van, fullsize truck, minivan, and GT sports car coupe.

Next car will likely be a performance sedan or another sports car.

I can't vote, I have a GMC truck and a Toyota sedan and the poll only allows 1 choice. I'd skew the poll by choosing one over the other.

Do you drive one more often than the other?

you should add a poll for which specific company makes the best and worst cars

acura/Honda
ford/Lincoln
gm/Chevy/Cadillac
Toyota/Lexus
Nissan/infiniti
BMW
Hyundai
Chrysler/dodge
mercedes
Volkswagen/audi
mazda
subaru
mistubishi
saab

i think that should cover most of the non-super-premium builders with a presence in the united states

I actually wish Honda would make a midsize truck, I used to say this all the time when I worked there, someone would always say: "you could get a ridgeline" me: your out of your mind if thats a midsize truck...lol

The Ridgeline is not even a truck. Real trucks are not front wheel drive unibodies.

That's too cut and dried with no real ranking options. This could be totally opinionated with little or no real world experiences.

I currently own a Honda coupe. I've had great experience with Mazdas, which are only 33.6% owned by Ford.

Been more than thrilled w/ my mazda MP5, and am quite impressed w/ some of Ford's new veh. Chrysler is complete crap, and GM doesn't really have anything that compelling; neither cheaper than some brands nor more reliable than others. No wonder thier sales suck

Bought 2 new cars this year, both Hondas

2008 Accord ex
2008 Acura TL-S

In a few years when the kids are getting bigger Ill probably trade the wifes accord for a rx300-ish car, but that's a few years off.

2 cars, 08 Accord EXL and a 95 Saab 92x....previously had two Fords but due to quality and lack of interesting product I looked elsewhere.

Next car will hopefully be an Acura, Lexus, or a BMW.

this post gave me a little bit of insight into my own pattern of thought, it seems to me that the most interesting vehicles are made by the smaller and midsized companies, while the bigger ones seem very stale to me. Personally i think honda/acura, mazda and subaru make the most enticing midrange cars; the offering of toyota, nissan, chevy/gm, ford, chrysler all come across to me as being VERY bland.
