Automatic fan RPM increase as temperature increases? Possible?

I have the option under ATI Tray tools, but it simply does not work. I want the fan to be 70% when the GPU is 70c, 80% when it's 80c, etc.

I have a 4870x2, and I'm wondering if this is possible outside of ATI Tray Tools.

At full load, CCC isn't very "generous" at increasing the RPM. The max I get is around 3000RPM, when the GPU hits 90c. But can't the stock fan RPM on my card get about 5000RPM? Why won't CCC kick up the RPM to 5000 when my GPU hits 90c.... Is there a way to do this?

rivatuner can do this, you gotta enable it and build a custom fan profile

CCC does good job keeping fan rpms as low as possible.

Fan control under ATT doesn't work AT ALL for some strange reason... Do I need to enabled manual fan control under CCC too or something?

90c full load for X2 is pretty high, isn't it?

I just set fan in CCC to be 45% constant when gaming, and 35% constant when idle

I don't even run CCC. I have no issues with custom fan control with ATT using 8.12, 9.1, and 9.2 drivers. I set up an auto overclock profile, so that the card only runs flat out when I'm gaming. The card never gets much above 70 C @ 45% fan.
