Automatic dialing and "missing" MS files SOLUTION

I'm trying to get through a great discovery, based on a tip from someone, somewhere, in this forum.

MY PROBLEM was that my computer kept automatically dialing up, even when not wanted. Upon cancelling, it started dialing again after a few seconds. Leaving it on, finally, after awhile (usually when in Outlook Express), it would throw up error boxes saying certain files (smss.exe, services.exe, etc.) weren't available and to make sure my antivirus/firewall allowed them.

I got these FIXED by getting rid of the w32.sober.o worm via

This might have gotten rid of a lot of German-language emails I was getting, too.
