Automatic "Appear Offline" Hack for Messenger?

I really like the WinXP / MSN Messenger but I really would like to have a hack so everytime I log on it first shows me as "Appear offline" ...
Sometimes it's really annoying to log on to the internet and right away people are sending you their IM's ... or sometimes I just would like to take a quick peep who's online without the others seeing me ...

So is there a HAck / Registry Setting so Messenger logs on and is right away set to "Appear Offline"?

This is a constant feature request made to the Messenger team. I understand that they are considering it.
