Why do you suppose that is?

AI is a fairly interesting topic for most people, especially those technically inclined. Yet this topic gets on your nerves.

I wonder if your subconscious is causing this feeling due to a hidden fear you have that someday robots or AI might take over and make you obsolete.

My guess is that even if this is so, your initial reaction will be that of denial since you are not consciously aware of your subconscious thoughts.
 
It's a bandwagon. First, Transcendence, then Lucy, then some other movie, now this.. the movies have nothing to do with the complexity of an AI, it's merely a vague depiction of a distopian society, since most of Hollywood is run by ignorant pricks. You can't deny an idea constructed by some old fart working for Hollywood. That would be.. unintelligent to discuss.
