Autoexec.bat Question

I have a Soundblaster Live! and I am having that SB16emulation IRQ Problem. If I uncheck the line in autoexec.bat that says "SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 H5 P330 T6" is it true that SB16 emulation will not load and I won't get that annoying beep when I am loading windows?

What do I need SB16 emulation for if I will never play old games?

Also, I have a gravis gamepad pro and it also has a line in the autoexec.bat file that says,"SET GRIP=C:\GRAVIS\CORESO~1" and "SET PATH=%PATH%;C:\GRAVIS\CORESO~1" Do I need those to play with my gravis gamepad pro?

you don't need the SB16 emulation. Disable from your start-up. (msconfig) and also from the device manager.
 
You can get rid of everything from your autoexec. Try a selective startup from msconfig and see what happens. Frees resources and speeds boot.
