Autodesk products now free for student and educator use

Autodesk’s entire catalog is now free to students, faculty, and Autodesk Assistance Program participants. This is undoubtedly good news to anyone wanting to enter the engineering, digital media, content creation, or any other number of fields that use Autodesk’s products.

As someone in the 3d vfx/sfx world I applaud them for doing this. The software is very expensive , $15K for what I have on my pc in just Autodesk stuff. Even for students in the past it was over $1K to get what I use now. Autodesk comprises such a wide area of software from autocad to 3dsmax and maya, softimage, mudbox, motiobuilder and more that I can't see anyone not benefiting from this move.

Yerp, have to buy hundreds of licenses at work for our labs.
