Does Autodesk do a good job with their 64-bit versions of Max, Maya, AutoCAD etc?

Do you notice any differences or is 64 bit the same as 32 bit for all intents and purposes?

Would you use XP 64, Server 64 or Vista 64 for a machine dedicated to CAD and 3D Viz (Basically, Firefox, Thunderbird, Office, AutoCAD, Photoshop)?

The 64 bits all work fine.
The biggest bonus is that the 64 bit support more memory.
Its easy to run out of memory when doing 3d work.
I recommend XP x64.
There are still issues with Autodesk programs and Vista.

I use AutoCAD, inventor and 3ds max on vista. I haven't had a single problem.

Good for you.
I use 3dsmax and Maya and both have issues with vista .
There are also 3rd party plugins that do not support vista yet.
