Auto-Powering on a computer when it's plugged in

I want my computer to power on automatically and stay on when it's plugged in at all times. My area frequently gets hit by storms causing the power to cut off briefly making it hard to access my files over the net.

That is usually a BIOS setting under power management. You can set what the computer does after a power loss.

Also, having your computer's power cut frequently is not good for it. I'd suggest you look into a UPS.

I only see wake from devices such as the mouse/keyboard and usb/pci modems. I also see a wake from alarm which is not working.

Also, having your computer's power cut frequently is not good for it. I'd suggest you look into a UPS.

It has to be there, every computer(at least all x86 desktop computers do have auto power on after power loss option in BIOS).
