Auto Insurance

Have eSurance right now but had geico before. I call at least 4 places once a year to verify rates.

Pay $782 for 3 cars (100/300/100). 2 (09 Cadillac CTS and 07 Dodge Dakota) have full coverage and 1 (73 Corvette) is just liability.

Shopping right now. It's tough because Michigan has the highest auto insurance rates in the nation. 2014 Chevy Equinox and 2014 Cadillac CTS $2018 a year. Right now I have a low rate on my home and my shopping so far has produced a lower rate on the cars with a higher rate on the home essentially netting out the same.

paid about 950/yr for 3 vehicles, will probably be one to two hundred more next year as I bought a new vehicle.

You have to shop around because each company has its own formulas for setting rates which includes the zip code where you live. What's cheapest for me might not be cheapest for you.

People told me for years that USAA was the cheapest for the fortunate ones who could join. When I finally was able to join and got a quote, they wanted 30% more than I was paying. There's no way to tell without checking.

After nearly 30 yrs with Allstate, changed to USAA a year ago - they saved me a half a ton of money with better coverage.

Wawanesa is good. Good rates. Decent enough company.

I use Geico for the moment. Before that, eSurance.

The general consensus, of course, is that USAA or Amica are markedly the best. It depends if they're competitive enough in your area.

Liberty Mutual for $1756/yr for 2 cars (w/ comprehensive). It's a lot compared to Geico (I quoted), but "multi-policy" allows me to save 20% on homeowner's so altogether it's still worth it. People need to consider that.

I have Geico and I get a new quote from other companies about once a year. They are never anywhere near as low as I pay.

I hear on the radio and TV about "The General", but I would assume it is pretty much one of those "pay us and if you file a claim, we'll fight it and then probably drop you if we have to pay" companies. You know, super cheap for a reason...

$975 for a 2008 dodge grand caravan and a 2012 Dodge caliber. both have full coverage and 250 deductible.

think i'm with state farm (been with them since i was 17)

About to switch back to Geico. I have Erie right now, but they want $1400/yr for two cars for my renewal. Geico is quoting me $958 for the same coverage.

Seems like a lot of the rates you guys are getting are extremely low. What kind of coverage do you guys have? Some of you guys say full coverage, but there are different tiers of full coverage.

Coverage and deductibles can make a HUGE difference in cost. We're paying on 2 of the 3 vehicles on our policy so we have collision, but I've upped the collision and personal injury payouts and deductibles. I carry liability and comprehensive on all cars as well.

I figure that you don't want to get stuck paying more if anything REALLY bad were to happen. I was buying cheap insurance through Geico and was underinsured based on what most new vehicles cost these days...

About $1,500 for 2 cars plus homeowners. Wife and I are both accident free and ticket free. Was rear ended 3 years ago whilst sitting at a stop light and it was deemed I was at 0% fault.

zip code greatly affects auto insurance.

state is usually a bigger factor than geo location variables, based on the laws of the state

some states are very good for insurance companies (ie OH), so premiums are among the lowest

and some states are very bad for insurance companies (ie PA, MI), so premiums are among the highest
