Right now I have two vehicles, a 1996 Honda Accord and a 1994 Infiniti J30. Both are paid for. Both are over 100k miles. I wanna try and save some money on the insurance. What good is collision for? If I drop it I can save over $250 on each car. I think I should keep uninsured motorist and obviously have to keep liability. Should I drop the collision or should I keep it?

Also, what are some good websites for comparing insurance rates?

Collision pays for damage to your car if you cause the wreck or somebody keys it or something. It depends on how much the car is worth if it is worth it to you to pay the extra $250 just incase something happens. I have two cars also one of which is my beater and not worth more than $1k and one is my fun car worth around $4k. I don't have collision on either but I should probably put it on the $4k one. You could also try getting the detuctalbe raised as high as possible and see what that does for your payment.

Ok that is what I thought. I haven't caused a wreck in over a decade. Neither car is worth more than $3k. The only thing I worry about is uninsured drivers, 1 out of 5 drivers in TX doesn't have insurance :(

Uninsured and liability only. On a vehicle that depreciated I think it's foolish to keep full coverage.

But, I live in a fairly low accident area, and have good driving skills, so it may be different for me.

I'd drop it on both just because i do not live in a high accident area. Most of the roads around me are relatively low volume and few intersections.
