Is there a way i can setup thunderbird to automatically foward my uiuc webmail (school email) to a gmail account in case my computer dies again? I have it set so i automatically DL the emails as they come in, because our school limits our email storage to 2 mb....hardly enough. Is there a way i can setup thunderbird to automatically foward the email to a dummy gmail account, just so the messages can be on a gmail server all the time?

you would probably have to do it on the uiuc webmail account not on thunderbird.

well i dont ever check my webmail through their online interface, i setup thunderbird to Dl the emails from the server to my PC

ask them if the have a unix-based interface (e.g. pine email). then you can create a .forward (yes, that's dot-forward) file that will automatically forward emails to your gmail account. i'd find out from the computing department if they support it though.

I know that Outlook has that functionality through its "Rules Wizard", if all else fails you can use Outlook.
