So, let's say you're using pirated copies of ANY software (you try to run firewall software, you use annonymous email addresses, and cover your tracks pretty well) in your house and the feds drop by to pay you a visit. You hear a knock at the door and go to answer the door. The feds are there and say that you are under arrest. You take one step back and Officer Maglight knocks you to the ground and whacks you in the head 11 times with a maglight.

Do you suck it up or do you cry foul?

This guy took a helluva lot more then 1 step, AND his actions directly jeopordized the lives of others by driving his car like a bat out of hell. Running pirated software doesnt directly affect the health and well being of others, since getting hit in the ethernet card by a packet from a pirated copy of Windows doesnt hurt you too much now does it 😉

So you justify one crime, but not the other 😉

I justify neither crime. i simply say 1 step backwards into your house is vastly different then 90 steps away from a car you just stole.

i disagree with what the cop did for two reasons:

1. the hoodlum will now sue and become a rich hoodlum scumbag

2. the cop had no right to beat him...he should have merely held him down handed the mag light to the person whose car was stolen and crashed and let them go to town on the scumbag....damn selfish cop 😛

Since there were so many officers, what they should have done was have like three to four officers draw their guns when his hands were up. That way, he wouldn't try anything. You need to tackle his ass. But I guess Officer Maglite had an adrenaline rush.

not.

Yeah, I'm actually honestly suprised at the support for the criminal. I have no idea when it became the proper thing to support the bad guys....
Well, I guess the Mob is going to be doing well the next few years anyways considering the support it will get.

No one is supporting the bad guy. Just balking at beating the guy when it wasn't even required. It's like shooting a corpse. The motherfvcker is already DEAD!

Shockwave, wow....just wow. First you say everything is black & white....the second you flee from the cops you should have 0 rights. Doesn't matter why, beat the fvck, shoot him, who cares right? He has no rights.

I'm condoning the beating because, as I said a few posts up, in my eyes the instant you flee from cops is the minute you forfeit ANY and ALL rights.

God Damn criminals! ...but wait, there might, just might, be some circumstances involved??? :Q

A criminal that steals music now all of sudden has rights?

I justify neither crime. i simply say 1 step backwards into your house is vastly different then 90 steps away from a car you just stole.

On second thought...everythign is black & white again...

the Mob and a car theif.....they're the same thing, criminals! F'em all!(except those who pirate of course...)

Even though you can't decide what to think, I must agree with 1 aspect...someone who pirates music should be treated differently than someone who steals a car. CIRCUMSTANCE

You're completely missing the point of those who, in your opinion, support this low life son of a b!tch. I don't feel sorry for him...I feel sorry for the cop b/c he lost control & he knows it. The car theif will pay for his actions through the legal system(fair or not) and the cop should pay for his actions as well.

Just as you believe there is a big difference between stealing music and running 90 feet after you ditch a stolen car...there is a big difference between subduing the SOB and beating him 11 times with a maglight.

Well CheapArse, you actually formulated a thought out response. Props to that (others have too. But some have not)

The difference between that 1 step and 90, is that 1 step as NSF described it was 1 step back into the house.... Ok....Did he attempt to close the door? Was his 1 step back to let them in? Too much left open in that 1 step. Hell, he could have stepped aside to let them in....

But this guy ran, this guy endagered others. Thats unacceptable to me. My views may very well be different then most though, sicne I have a wife and 3 kids which I worry about EVERY FVCKING DAY because of asshats like this. Is someone like this going to run a red light and hit my kid on the cross walk? Is someone like this out on bail going to rape my wife?
Perhaps the difference between me and you is I have more to worry about then myself.

The music example was only used b/c it was discussed earlier. It really doesn't matter where he stepped or even if he stepped at all...the point was that they are 2 completely different crimes. One is much more severe than the other. Should the person committing the much more severe crime get a more severe sentance? YES, of course.

Your complaint about the legal system is probably very valid and accurate. This guy might do 6-months or whatever. Just as Bradruth stated, they are there to do a job, NOT to pass out punishments. That is exactly what this cop did, he was angry, just like you said you would be. He has a family, kids, he went over the line though. It is not his job to pass out punishments as he sees fit.

Im sure some of our conflicting views do come from the fact that you have a family to worry about where I do not. My entire point is not that this low-life scum didn't deserve a beating, its that the punishment given was not the cop's to give. He went over the line and needs to be held accountable.

Certainly our views are different then. My other complaint (Which I'm sure we ALL can share) is todays punishment isnt always considered punishment. Jello and cable TV doesnt strike me as "punishment". I vote for the bring back the chain gangs. But thats beyond the scope of this thread. 😉

i agree too...this fvcker is a career criminal! i'd stop by just to give the officer a new convict-beater flashlight!!

Free Video on MSN

After the commercial plays then the video plays. I guess I ain't surprised. He did break the law, but to be beat like that was uncalled for. And these other cops are just as guilty because they should have restrained the officer. What is really outlandish is the fact he kicked the guy first while he was laying down on the ground. The car thief will get some years for this, but he'll also have about half million or so waiting for him when he gets out.
