Yes, this story basically tells us nothing except a breakthrough in surveillance video analysis and a suspect arrested, no mention why.

This could happen tens of times and the real perpetrator might not be caught. More info necessary.

welcome to the age of trying to scoop twitter, how many bombs? 3, 4 a dozen or so? No just the 2, report it now, we can revise it latter when we actually know. It's this sort of reporting that lead to some of the conspiracy theories, because the media keeps changing their story siting "law enforcement sources"

Ultimately it serves it's purpose the clicks/views are already logged and delivered, which seems to be all that matters these days.

I'm already long bored with the issue. Every news source keeps repeating the same handful of facts every hour, peppered with meaningless speculation.

I understand it was a despicable act. I understand it sucks for a lot of people. I don't need to be browbeat with it and I don't care who reports a new fact first. If it requires some exceptional feat of journalism to obtain, I will laud them the same if I hear about it 2 days later.

And they all get major demerits from me when they sacrifice accuracy for speed.

I'm not entirely blaming the Media here. I was listening to Megan Kelly on Fox, her background is a lawyer, and she was reporting conflicting statement by various LE sources. (E.g., she was saying we have two who confirmed the arrest and now 3 who are denying the story.) There a number of LE agencies involved and it looks like they're not all on the same page.

Of interest IMO, was some talking head (not sure who he was or what his background is in). I thought he made some very good points. He was shocked at the leaks from LE. He mentioned prior LE behavior in tracking down such suspects, noting cases where LE had identified them but choose to leave them thinking they were safe and then follow them for like 6 days to see who they contacted/visited etc to gather info on possible cells. Basically, we seem to be blowing any opportunity to gather intel.
