We're not a sheithole with dictators for life as our representatives, you get your vote.

I know you were kidding but it's not all that funny.

Besides, i think Clegg is one of the best politicians we've had in a LONG time, a true liberal in every sense of the word. Don't like Cameron much though, hopefully we can get rid of him come next election, but even if Labour wins then i hope that the LibDems are still in a position to share the power, either party needs the influence to stop them from going full retard.

Personally though, i'd like to see the LibDems in power.

Cleggs a hypocrite that got caught out when the LD's could no longer hide behind the fact that they would never get any power.

I'm not surprised that you think so, but it is an opinion, one that i do not share at all.

He doesn't have much power but what he does have is the ability to influence Government and he's done that fairly well IMO.

Naturally, since England, much like the US, is divided mostly into two camps, the LibDems will keep fighting an uphill battle against the set ways of the UK public.

Just remember that he is responsible for that government being in power.

yes but crazies are everywhere. i know aussies really dont have guns but good god she could have been easily stabbed.

I think it's really bad form to let your Prime Minister get so obviously chased out of an event by violent protesters. It's going to encourage other protesters in the future to show up at events to see if they can get the countries leaders to scurry off like frightened mice. If the location was too risky they shouldn't have let her go in the first place.

I'm fullly aware of this and while you may blame them for some things remember that it was Labour that really put us in the situation we are in now from MANY years of horrible financial politics and bad decisions both foreign and domestic.

I prefer to have a government that takes responsibility than one that will take no responsibility for any actions and drive the nation into the ground to keep popularity figures up.

It's been this way since the 1800's, it's not gotten worse.

Yeah, its far better to keep all protesters as far away from anyone in power as possible.

I'm not going to defend Labour here in the least, they were very much at fault.

But the LD's have betrayed just about every policy and promise they made before getting a sniff of power. To me they are the worst political hypocrites we have seen in the UK for a long while.

You misspelled "entirely".

Which policy that they could have changed have they betrayed? Name one.

You may not be aware of this but much of the actual policy enacted so far IS Liberal policy.

You are surely aware that they can't do anything without compromise though, right? It's not like they are in a position where they alone can make decisions.

I trust you are being sarcastic? My meter is kinda broken...

I figured he was, but there's a fine line between the freedom to protest and putting the President/PM at risk along with innocent bystanders and others. The story said the protesters had "makeshift weapons" so the risks must have been real.

We do that even in the house of commons, it's instituted in our democracy that people get to have their voice heard.

Makeshift weapons could be anything from a shoelace to a homebuilt ANFO bomb, it doesn't really say much at all but if it really was a weapon, how come no one was arrested?

Also know that this is the daily fail, the paper that makes news news by inventing details that makes a story newsworthy.

I shit you not, the makeshift weapons could be camera straps or that they have shoelaces on their shoes that could be used for strangling, it wouldn't be the first time the daily fail did that either.

I remember a story about muslims complaining about bacon fumes, turned out it was an outlet from a breakfast restaurant that was 12 inches from the neighbours front door and that he wasn't a muslim nor did he know anyone who was muslim that had complained about it and the restaurant but after being questioned about every one of his friends he admitted that they COULD be muslims in secret.

Next day "Muslims complain about restarurant cooking pork".

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the situation is being overblown. It's 'mobbed' or 'attacked' when it involves minorities and just normal when it involves the majority.
