FWIW I have an Auria 32". It is cheap and functional. That's about all that can be said about it. Looking at the reviews, seems the 42" is the same. Cheap and functional.

Looking for something for the kids bedroom to play Xbox on. Will it be suitable for that purpose? Kinda leery since it's so low. Cheap is OK, POS is not. :D

It has inputs and it gives you a picture. What else do you want? It won't give you a fancy name, won't do 3D, no 120/240/600Hz, no built-in web browser, no high quality bezel material. The only iffy part is if it is DOA or dies soon, because then you'd have to deal with shipping.

All I can say is my Auria 32" works. It doesn't excite me and it isn't fancy, but at least it was cheap.

I thought the Auria 32" had pretty good picture quality, so this could be a good deal.

Build quality wasn't so good though. But, hey, TVs are just supposed to stand there with minimal interaction, and it will hold up to that.

How far away will you be sitting from the monitor? A 42" screen has a pretty big dot pitch, so if you are sitting at a normal desk, you'll probably be able to see the pixels. This would be true regardless of brand/model. For desktop use, the 32" 1080p will probably be the largest you can go without that problem. The Auria 32" 1080p has been available for I think $270 shipped, so just wait for that.
