Not really true.. All the Aureal cards have been sold to stores now, stores own the cards, if you bought a card, the money would go to the store. Creative gets nothing, unless they start manufacturing the cards again..

I have the OEM version with the optical out. I activated A3D in the Unreal Tournament demo and I think it dropped a couple frames; I can't quantify this since I can't figure out how to display FPS (played it for the first time yesterday). A3D does a pretty good job in UT with only 3 speakers (2 satellites + subwoofer). It was easier to tell exactly which direction people were shooting at me from the sides, but a little more difficult from behind.

When I upgraded my system I went with the SBLive! Used to have the MX300. Can't tell much difference except in Q3.
