as someone said earlier, i really like their first album. their second was meh and the third was a good comeback...a rage revival would be cool though.

Yep...the first was brilliant, the second and third meh, not so much, but #1 Zero is still their best song. It was the slower songs from the first one that really made the album.

Rage is overrated. But that guitarist that was Audioslave as well is friggin awesome.
My problem with rage is the lead singer. Has some kind of lisp going with S's.
In one song, he reminded me of Ross Perot on the SNL presidential debate after he says, "Can I finish, can I finish?"
"shobbooy shy shoobie sshoooo shooo shooby."

Chris Cornell had an awesome voice.

compare his work on temple of the dog, louder than love, badmotorfinger, and superunknown to audioslave. the former cornell had passion and range, the later has a tired and gravely voice.
you can blame that on smoking.

Your post sucks.

It's too bad. Their first album was outstanding, I can listen to it over and over. I wonder who the "creative differences" were between. I hope a RATM reunion is not in the works - Audioslave's first album showed that the band can really put something quality out when they're not being screamed and shouted over by an anti-government wannabe rapper. Not that I don't like Rage (I have all their albums), but I'd rather see them move on to something else then go back to that.

...and wrecklessly singing his balls off. he wasn't singing in a way that was conducive to a long career. to bad he didn't get some training before blowing out his voice.

RATM > Audioslave x infinity....

even though the political sh!t did grate on the nerves after a while. The quality of music (excluding lyrics) was just so much better with RATM- Morello's playing was better, Tim's bass was deeper and richer, it just sounded worlds better.

I tried really hard to like Audioslave since I liked RATM and Soundgarden, but it just wasn't meant to be.

I always felt like Audioslave was 'Diet Cornell' and I just couldn't get into it as much. All the riffs, despite Morello being a great guitarist, sounded way over processed and boring to me. It wasn't bad, but it just wasn't the sum of two equally amazing and wild forces.

I miss slaves and bulldozers.. :( what happened to your balls Cornell? :brokenheart:

Well, he is 40 now. Even though he can't hit the freaky high notes that he once used to nail, he's still one of the best singers out there. I'm looking forward to his new stuff! :)

I liked Soundgarden and Rage is one of my fav. bands but Audioslave was largly unremarkable.

I'd love to see Rage get back together, I always thought they quit far too early.

Good, I'm sick of hearing them. Though, I REALLY hope Rage doesn't get back together. If they do, please god make something that doesn't sound exactly the same as everything else.

Everything else like Emo bands???
