Looking to upgrade your home theater? Looking for GREAT speakers to compliment the Denon AVR-3802 that you can get at 6th Ave for $699?

Mark Schifter, owner of www.av123.com and creator of the amazing DIVA loudspeaker line has recently announced Rocket Loudspeakers, and there are some GREAT introductory package deals offered on their website!

These speakers, along with the previous DIVA line, are arguably the best performing speaker in this price range on the market. What really makes this a hot deal, however, is Mark Schifter's incredible dedication to customer service. His company just never ceases to amaze me -- the lengths to which they will go to make a customer happy are unlike any that I have ever seen before.

If you want to learn more about all this, head over to the Audio/Hi-Fi Forum at AVS Forum and read the sticky thread about the DIVA loudspeakers (all 2500+ posts!). Mark and his sales people, Steve Ozmai and Sean Parque, are active participants on the board. They dedicate time every day to post and answer questions in the forum! There are several other threads that have been started about the new Rockets, which were announced about a week ago. (Look for Mark's announcement in the DIVA thread on 7-2.)

I'm so impressed by others' comments and Mark & Co.'s obvious devotion to customer service, that I'm getting ready to drop ~$3000 on speakers that I've never even heard! You may think I'm crazy, but you probably won't if you're into great home theater. Read the whole thread -- you'll understand!

BTW: Did I mention that Mark is a member of the Marantz family? :)

These really are a hot deal!

I know it does, but trust me, it's just that you don't come across companies like this every day. I've been buying things from online retailers since online retailers were a new thing -- the quality of these speakers and the commitment to customer service that this company offers are just amazing.

If I could go to work for them, I just might. :)

Dude -- have you even READ the rules? I do not work for the company, so the "No Dealers" rule doesn't apply to me. The rule about thread crapping, however, would seem to apply to you. :|

Telling people about a great price on great speakers from a great company -- wow, sorry man. I thought this was the Hot Deals Forum.

Sure sounds like you work for them. Or do you always memorize the names of sales people?

Great Price? Super! Well let me take those RS750's for $1399 a pair. Heck, those are so cheap, give me 2 pair. I'll go dig through my couch cushions to see what I can come up with. Not!

They look like they belong in the crummy apartment of a recently divorced, balding, beer gut swelling, leisure suit wearing man in the middle of a mid-life crisis.

Is the avs forum, the av123, and rocket loudspeakers all the same people/company?

Edit: that avsforum looks like a place where the dealers get together to sell you stuff rather than an independent audio review site.
Do you even own a pair? Do you work for them, are you getting kickbacks?
With this kind of post, we are all suspicious.

AVS Forum is a discussion forum (like Anandtech) where people come together to discuss Audio/Video Stuff -- HDTV/Satellite/DVD/Home Theater etc. It's only the highest-traffic Audio/Video discussion forum on the net. It's not a review site -- it's a discussion site! They have specific rules against advertising, which is not permitted. There are, however, several employees of big name A/V manufacturers (Denon, Marantz, B&W, TiVo, etc.) that regularly participate in the various forums, answering questions and providing support for their products.

So you really wouldn't understand people that spend $25,000 on home theater then, would you? I thought not...

Right... so you'd prefer the vinyl covered fiberboard of so many purported high end speakers over the classic look of real rosewood? Well, there's no accounting for taste. 'Preciate the ad hominem attack, though!

Whatever, man. Do your research. Have I ever posted about audio electronics before? I'm an MCP who works on computers for a living, and I trade in the FS/FT forums all the time. Excuse me for getting excited about what I consider a deal.

As far as I'm concerned, the mods can lock this up now. I'll just let you people go back to thinking that Bose makes a great speaker, and leave decent audio discussion to people who know anything about it.

Sorry. My bad. I neglected to see that the Hot Deals forum at Anandtech.com was the romping grounds for the people that spend $25,000 on a home theater, thus providing a reason for the existence of this thread.

Rosewood looks great in all kinds of furniture, just not speakers IMO. I prefer the color that dominates the rest of my home theater.

First, thanks for clearing up about the avsforum audio forum, I will bookmark and see if i can get more knowledge.
I think you should just add AUDIOPHILE ONLY in the message, it would save you time in not having to educate us masses.
AUDIO QUALITY IS INCREDIBLY SUBJECTIVE BE PREPARED TO DEFEND YOUR CLAIMS
I am really looking to know more about higher quality speakers, even more if its a hot deal, but the first post just seems too akward and uninformative.
Any other audiophiles care comment on the qulaity of these speakers/brand/company?

To each to his own, but these speakers are just jaw droppingly good from the pictures themselves imo. Real wood veener is not easily found in speakers at this pricepoint. I was tempted to buy a setup of Diva's earlier this year but since my silly self could not be patient I jumped the gun and bought a Paradigm setup. The Diva speakers should bring the most bang for the buck, even though I have not heard them (my paradigm dealer has and he said its a revealing set of speakers), the response on the audio boards I have visited have been all positive. Some of the Diva, now Rocket Loudspeakers, owners have also set themselves up to allow auditions to other people. One member from I believe the AVS Forum took apart a Diva and posted positive comments on the well detailed and though out construction on these speakers.

These seemly "overpositive" statements do not seem to be lies, if you are on a budget or even if you are not, spend your money smartly and check these out.

And no AVS Forum is not affliated with AV123.com nor is it a place full of dealers that persuade other members to buy their products. Oh and the owner of the company, Mark Schifter, also replies in the emails sent to the company as well as the other dedicated staff working there. I sent off an email a while back to ask about shipping costs and stock availibilty and received a detailed answer the very next day. Even though I do not own their products, I admire the effort they put into CS and their products.

To those of you that are complaing these are expensive speakers, you know nothing of home theater. While I have no direct experience with these speakers, These will blow away anything you can buy at even a high end consumer electronics store. Bose sounds like a 99 cent radio compared to real high end speakers.
A hot deal is a hot deal not because the item is cheap, but because the item is cheap in comparison to the normal price. So if a car normally costs $20000, and there is a dealer selling them for $12000 and will deliver anywhere to the US, that's a hot deal. Sure $12000 is expensive, but it's $8000 off the normal price. These speakers are the same. These are (relatively) expensive speakers. However, compared to the normal price, this is a good deal.
And those of you that think these are expensive, there are people that buy home theater speakers that cost more than you paid for your house....EACH (yes, you can spend more than $100,000 on a SINGLE speaker) THOSE are expensive speakers. As to me, I don't really have the money to jump on these, and I'm content with my Miller and Kreisel speakers (MX-1000cc sub/center channel, S-100b L&R, forget the model of the sub I picked up locally used for $175. Now that was a BURNING hot deal)

Thanks for the support guys! Felt like I was the only audiophile on AT there for a while. :)

Jackwhitter -- don't just take my word for it. Read what people have to say about them in the forum. (Something the earlier posters in this thread obviously haven't done.) If you want to audition the Divas, audioenvy.com has set up a registry of people who will let you demo them in their homes -- maybe you live near someone. :) The Rockets are a little too new to support this, but people seem to be buying them, so I'm sure audioenvy will update the site to search for Rocket owners soon.

Thanks for the info Raiden256.I will have to check out the Rocket lineup .I love my home theater setup but one day I know I am going to want to love it even more and upgrade. Some of these guys can't seem to understand buying anything other than Joe 6 pack; Wal-Mart bought, Kraco Home Theater in a box for $129 but we audiophiles know that with the right equipment-it's like you are transported into another dimension. When that bomb blows, we are there baby!Isn't it fun when a pal brings over his joe 6 pack buddy; you watch a flick and throttle it up a little above the norm and watch his jaw drop when the paintings on the wall start to skake and tilt from the thunderous blasts from your subwoofer?Sound and vision man-I'm in like Flint

I'm looking for 5.1 setup... but this rocket loudspeaker setup is wayyyyy over my budget, which is around $500. I'm thinking of the energy take 5 (not the 5.2), do you guys have better recommendation for this price range?

Well, sure, I'd be spending my time on a message board providing "customer service" as well if I were selling $3000 speakers. How much do you think they cost to make, huh? I'd bet it's not even 1/4th of that.

I agree with mflacy, this is just ridiculous price. the only good deals here are ones less than 300 range. but for me 100 is at most.

$3000 is a very frightening number, especially for us less fortunate in the world. You'll also want the $700 receiver, and maybe a another $3000+ tv and a good progressive scan dvd player, and the list goes on. I probably won't ever be able to buy something like this. I've been reading the avsforum for hours, and it looks to be a very competitive industry. I doubt the profits are very high. But you can't judge the cost of a complex item like that. They require research and engineering. 1/4 might be the cost of materials, but what you are paying for is the knowledge of where the materials are placed and how it is made to replicate sounds. The cost of a geforce 4 card might be pennies. It also seems the forums are the best form of support, i think their personal telephone number is also there somewhere. These are items made for a niche market, the forums are more personal because problems are very unique. A typical $9/hour tech support person cannot tell you the angle to put a speaker to get the best sound, or the material on your wall is ruining the high notes. I have never heard speakers costing more that $500 in a store, but I know there are better ones out there, I have heard them at the theaters.
