i use audiocatalyst to rip my cds. i notice that whenever i have a mixed audio / data cd, the last audio track next to the data track has problems ripping. as the rip is about done reading the last track such as 80% or greater, the cd stops spinnning and no longer continues to rip. this sucks as i can never rip the last track of those mixed audio / data cds and says i have an ASPI error. i have the lateset verion of the ASPI drivers so i dont know what gives. please help. thanks.

so far i couldnt get to rip the last track of no doubt's "rock steady" album, save ferris' "it means everything album", and a few other cds.

or if you know a freeware (not shareware) that can overcome this dilemma and rip to at least wave files (i know how to convert the wav to mp3 via audiocatalyst), a link to the download would be greatly appreciated.

I've found that CDex does the job without fail every time. Plus it includes the LAME MP3 encoder and is freeware.

Please stop using Audiocatalyst. It is a poor ripper and the WORST mp3 enocder available.

Check out the Anandtech FAQ's for articles about CD Ripping and MP3 Encoding. There are links to some great free software in those articles.
