audio/video synch issues

i'm watching an .avi movie and the audio is about .5 seconds ahead (.452 ms to be exact)...

Using Media Player Classic, I can synch this, but is there any easy/good way to save the file with the audio shifted so I can play this back on my Divx capable DVD player?

you can use virtual dub (google it) to increase/decrase the delay of the audio for the AVI

open it in virtual dub and then press control+i (audio interleave window will appear) and you will see where you can change the audio skew correction.

before you save the avi file, under video file menu, change it from full processing mode to direct stream copy.
