So I RMA'd my z-560's, which left me with an 8-inch subwoofer and 4 satellites doing absolutely nothin! I'd like to have it connected to
my home theater system for some extra boom. The receiver doesn't have a sub output, unfortunately.:| What would be a good way
to set this up? Also, does nebody know how to connect the amp inside the sub w/o the control tower thinger? Thanks for any replies!

Well, the tower thing has the amp in it. Sub output is a low level signal, and isn't enough ass to drive subs.

Wire the satellites in with your other speakers to get sonic spread, and then figure out some way to power that sub with some kind of low pass filter.

if they sub doesn't have the amp built in to it, i see this being a lot more trouble than it's worth.

I have an old Kenwod amp that wants to pull some sub duty! I'll connect the TAPE OUT on the home stereo to the AUX on the Kenwoody
turn the treble all the way down and see if that has enough power. That should do it right? I mean I hate to let that great box go to waste. The other option is about the same, but it entails BUYING an amp and throwing the setup in the truck. More of a pain.:)

One more question...how would I bridge it to get Mono sound? Connect the + on the left and the - on the right? Would that double the power or is that my imagination I just saw streak by? Thank you for reading this!

P.S.: How do you make a low-pass filter?
