Audio ports question for phantom AND what is the black usb header for the dp67bg

(I think this is the right thread) anyway on the full tower case, the nzxt phantom, for the audio and microphone ports, it doesnt reach to the left side of the motherboard, apparently this was made for MB's that have it right on the edge, well the dp67bg doesnt. is there buyable extensions for this? I dont use them, so its not important, I wont run into any problems besides not being able to use it right?

2nd question, there is this usb cord, internal usb that is, that goes to this black little stand looking thing, it comes with the dp67bg. in the directions it says connect it to the MB and then peel off the 3m tape and stick it to a unused 5.25 " bay, I dont get this. There is no usb or anything, its just a usb header to a blank grey thing that sticks to a 5.25" bay. It said this is USB or something, could this be bluetooth? im confused.

For the FP audio headers, yes the worst thing that will happen if you don't plug them in is that they just won't work. You can buy an extension cable or just splice some more wire in yourself though. The other part is the USB Wifi/Bluetooth module, they want you to put it near the front of the case because that is usually plastic and doesn't block reception as much as the steel case will.

Oh I see, I was confused because in a manual it said bluetooth/wifi, in another it said usb, and it also confused me, im new to this stuff, so you can plug simples things like that into usb modules? interesting, I didnt even know this had wifi, haha. ok well, I may buy the extension, I never use them unless im just chilling with my headphones, which is really not often. 😛 Also, another question, my phantom ended up coming with 1 usb 2.0 and 1 usb 3.0, my motherboard doesnt support a 3.0 cord. :/ So there is no way to get the 3.0 working correct? "Edit" - Wait so.. im using a NZXT phantom, its 5.25 bays are covered in by that little shield that opens and closes if any of you are familiar with the phantom design. Isnt this shield made of metal though? It looks like a mix of 2 layers, plastic and metal, dont think its any better than putting it inside the drive bays or on one of my 5.25" bays on a open one.

I imagine that it is probably possible to convert a USB 3.0 header to a USB 2.0 header, but I googled around and didn't come up with any pre-made header cables.

As for the bay covers being made of metal, obviously Intel can't take into account every possible case design when they make the motherboard. You can put the antenna anywhere that the cable will reach, just try to avoid metal for the best reception.

I meant like convert my internal usb 2.0 header to a 3.0, I know it probably wouldnt be 3.0, Id just like it to work instead of a useless usb port sitting there

I understand that. I'm saying that I've not seen an adapter that can do that, though such a thing should be theoretically possible.
